A Day in the Life of an HVAC Service Professional

2025-01-17 By Parker Ibarra

Morning Preparations

The day starts early at Hammond Heating & Air Conditioning, well before most people have switched on their first cup of coffee. By 7 AM, I’m already reviewing the day’s service calls and maintenance schedules while doing a thorough inventory check of my service vehicle.

First Calls of the Day

8:00 AM typically finds me at my first appointment, often helping homeowners with their AC systems. Whether it’s a routine maintenance check or addressing an emergency breakdown, each call requires complete focus and attention to detail. The morning schedule usually includes:

• Performing preventive maintenance
• Checking refrigerant levels
• Cleaning or replacing air filters
• Inspecting electrical connections

Midday Operations

Lunch breaks are flexible, usually grabbed between service calls. The afternoon often brings different challenges, from installing new HVAC systems to troubleshooting complex issues. Every call is an opportunity to ensure our customers enjoy comfortable indoor environments.

Afternoon Activities

The latter part of the day might include:

• Completing installation paperwork
• Ordering necessary parts
• Following up with customers
• Providing system operation tutorials to new clients

End of Day

Before heading home, I ensure my vehicle is restocked and ready for tomorrow’s calls. Working at Hammond Heating & Air Conditioning means being prepared for whatever challenges the next day might bring, always with a commitment to professional service and customer satisfaction.

The most rewarding part of my day is knowing that I’ve helped families and businesses maintain comfortable, efficient indoor environments. Whether it’s the height of summer or dead of winter, our team stands ready to provide the highest quality HVAC services to our community.
